Important change to guideline documents
The SEI contractor’s code of practice and specification guideline document dated 05/06/2009 includes one very important change. The target u Value for attics insulated at ceiling level has been changed from 0.13Wm2K to 0.16Wm2K. A copy of the document can be downloaded here.
This means that all requirements of the HES scheme are in line with current TGD L building regulations. It also means that less insulation is required overall to meet the requirements of the HES scheme.
With Rockwool Roll products the 0.16Wm2K u Value can be achieved by laying one layer of 100mm x 400mm Rollbatt between the joists and covering the joists with a further layer of 170mm x 1200mm Roll. This removes the need to cover the joists with an additional 2 layers of insulation. Please click for further information on the Rockwool roll products.
